All learnerships require an average of 2 theory lessons per month. The rest of the time is seen as workplace experience where assignments are completed.
Practical sessions are arranged on site where necessary and may be done in the form of a simulation, should the site not allow for it. The party responsible for the practical sessions are indicated in the SLA.
Assessment and Moderation are conducted by Qualified and Registered Assessors and Moderators.
Certificates of attendance are issued on the mid-way mark and also at the end of the assessment.
SETA certificates are only issued a few months after the completion of the qualification and upon endorsement of external moderation.
For learnerships for deaf learners, a GPR Training Academy sign language interpreter will be assisting with the recruitment, pre-assessment, facilitating and assessments, together with a qualified facilitator and assessor.
For learnerships for able-bodied learners, GPR Training Academy will conduct pre-assessment sessions with the learners before they embark on the learnership.
Portfolio of Evidence consolidation sessions will be held to finish the POE’s for SETA submission.
All training material will be supplied to the learners.

What our students are saying…..
I started working at GP Retail Operations in March 2016 as a graduate under WEEG programme in the Trolley division where I was appointed. At the end at of my contract in 2017 I was offered a permanent post to be the Operations Administrator for the division and been working for the division since. In my time here I have also received three awards, the Golden EVA award for exceptional work done in the period of 2017 as well as the Most Improved Manager in the division at the year-end awards. In 2018 I have also been nominated for another Golden EVA award for exceptional work done in the division.
GP Retail Operations
I am a WEEG (2016) graduate who was offered an opportunity to be part of the supply chain internship with GP Retail Operations. I am appreciative of the 12 months programme and the willingness of the company to let me explore all of the departments within the client’s warehouse. I was able to sit in management meetings, prepare reports concerning supply chain operations and more. I have gained valuable insight into the supply chain industry and this internship has definitely given me knowledge and understanding what supply chain is all about. I was also able to test myself in a working setting to gain clarity on my strength, weakness and interests. After completing the graduate programme, I was offered a permanent position at GPR Training Academy as a Facilitator/Assessor, where I can further develop on my strengths.

GP Retail Operations
I was in a WEEG programme with GP Retail Operations in 2016. Being on the programme has helped me gain so much skills, knowledge and experience on the Retail industry that has helped me to grow as an individual. At the end of the programme I was appointed permanent by GPR Training Academy as a Junior Facilitator/ Assessor where I am now using the strong skills I have gained throughout the programme. Today I am able to handle pressure and overcome challenges because I have been given the best opportunity and learnt a lot.
